This Korean coffee has conquered social media, especially TikTok, and has become the most popular coffee during this quarantine. The good news is that it is very easy and fast to make and you only need three ingredients: soluble coffee, sugar, and water.

If you are a coffee fan, perhaps you have seen many photos of this sparkling wine on social networks, which for some time now is viral and it seems that everyone takes it.

Similar to the ‘frappé’ that we drink in summer but with a more ‘chic’ presentation, this coffee is viral on Instagram and TikTok and we have understood that the reason lies in how delicious it is (hello, sugar), but also because of the still lifes that can be done with him as the protagonist.

In social networks he is nicknamed in different ways, you can find it under ‘hashtags’ that contain the words: ‘Dalgona coffee‘, ‘fluffy coffee’, ‘frothy coffee’, ‘whipped coffee‘ … The most popular? ‘Fluffy’ and ‘dalgona’, the latter meaning adopted for its resemblance to a South Korean bauble.

Be that as it may and regardless of its name, the truth is that it is very rich (because it carries a considerable amount of sugar) and we have found a way to do it at home and that you can surely replicate.

Why Dalgona Coffee is Trending Now?

Dalgona Coffee emerged as a way to pass time among South Korean citizens once the government established that, to avoid spreading COVID-19, it would be better for the country’s citizens to stay at home.

Why is it called Dalgona Coffee? Dalgona is a very popular type of candy in South Korea. You can find it on the streets of Myeongdong especially and it usually comes with a figure inside it. If you can leave the figurine intact, they can give you another dalgona! The flavor of this drink is very reminiscent of the sweet taste of Dalgona, hence its name.
